Git-Centric Workflow
Templates live in .CodeBaker/ inside your own repository, so the whole team shares, reviews and versions them like any other code.
UI-Driven Generation
A guided dialog collects your values, resolves them top to bottom, and shows a preview of every file before anything is written.
Safe & Native Preview
Review every file, compare changes in the IDE's diff viewer, and edit the generated content before it is written to disk.
How it works
What's inside
Templates Your IDE Still Understands
- Works with any programming language or text format
- Template files keep their native extensions: IDE highlighting, inspections and formatting keep working
- Custom placeholders and configurable syntax let you create dynamic templates and keep files valid
- Placing directives in specially marked comments keeps the language's syntax intact
- Inline replacement lets you keep real, working values in templates and swap them for dynamic ones
Configuration & Control
- Flexible JSON5 configuration with comments, trailing commas and unquoted keys
- The dialog is built from your config: each variable becomes a field, and lists get a JSON area
- Dynamic variable values, computed from earlier variables with template expressions and filters
- Name filters: camelCase, snake_case, plural, slug and more, from one typed name
- Advanced templates: data-driven file trees (rename, repeat in a loop) and in-place updates (write once, insert, JSON upsert)
IDE Integration
- Works in IntelliJ IDEA, PhpStorm, WebStorm, PyCharm, GoLand, RubyMine, CLion, Rider and DataGrip (2023.2 to 2026.2)
- A guided four-step dialog: form, progress log, file preview, generation
- Nothing is written until you finish: review every file and edit the generated text first
- Compare with existing files in the IDE's diff viewer, with a three-way merge
- One Edit → Undo reverts a whole generation
- Install sample templates, or any template from a link, a file or GitHub
- Generation history: pick an earlier set of values and regenerate in seconds
